Charles Armstrong

Charles Armstrong

Chief Executive Officer

Charles Armstrong is an ethnographer turned technology entrepreneur. He founded Trampoline Systems in 2003 to build on his research into how small communities distribute information to relevant recipients.

Charles graduated in Social & Political Science from St. John’s College, Cambridge and was subsequently mentored by the eminent sociologist Lord Young of Dartington. Prior to Trampoline Charles founded Circus Foundation, an independent think-tank and research lab.

Charles is a Fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs and outside Trampoline he’s involved in photography, ashtanga yoga, baroque keyboard music, avant garde electronica and exploring remote places.

Peter Biddle

Vice President of Development

Peter Biddle joined Trampoline after serving for 17 years at Microsoft Corporation, latterly as Senior Director, Systems Integrity Group. Peter has a wealth of experience as a strategist, innovator and technical communicator. Most recently Peter specialised in the security field, masterminding and shipping core enterprise security features in Microsoft Windows, including BitLocker Drive Encryption. During his time at Microsoft Peter also invented the theory of the “Darknet”, a private virtual network used to share digital content, led Microsoft’s entry into DVD and prototyped PVR.

Peter oversees the technical wing of Trampoline, leading product development, conducting high-level technical liaison with customers and partners and evangelising about the next generation of enterprise technology.

Adrian Jones

Vice President of Sales

Adrian has 25 years of enterprise sales experience and specialises in establishing new technologies. He joined Trampoline from Oracle Corporation, where he was responsible for the establishment of Oracle’s embedded business in the UK and Ireland. Prior to his tenure at Oracle Adrian was Managing Director of Sleepycat Europe Ltd., building the Berkeley DB business in Europe. Adrian also spent eight years at Versant as Vice President of EMEA where he oversaw the company’s European operations, led the growth of Versant from number four to number one in the object database market in Europe and opened up the financial sector to Versant’s technology.

At Trampoline Adrian leads sales strategy and execution, partnerships and distribution and the adoption of Trampoline’s technology globally.

Craig McMillan

Chief Technologist

Craig has been leading enterprise software development initiatives for twelve years, including three years with Sun Microsystems. At Sun Craig led the technical team building the Identrus Global Trust Network Identity assertion platform led technical team for new enterprise integration and meta-directory platform.

At Trampoline Craig is focussed on the social network analysis and natural language processing which form the core of SONAR and Metascope. Craig graduated in Electrical and Information Sciences from St John’s College, Cambridge where he received the University’s Computer Science Diploma.

Mike Stenhouse

Head of User Experience

Mike began his career as a web standards and accessibility specialist, building systems for clients including PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Virgin and the BBC. In pursuit of his fascination with how and why people use the web Mike moved into User Experience, conceiving and implementing effective and usable interfaces for web applications.

As Head of User Experience at Trampoline Systems Mike is responsible for producing state of the art interfaces for SONAR, locating expertise within the enterprise, and Metascope, which visualises large ONA data sets.

Alistair Davidson

Alistair Davidson

Development Manager

Alistair is an expert in the social software field. He helped create SmartGroups, one of the first group email platforms, between 2001 and 2004. More recently Alistair served as Senior Developer with Headshift, London’s leading social software consultancy. Alistair has 10 years experience of large-scale systems design and development in a wide variety of languages and environments, focussed on enterprise-class web systems. He is a graduate of Durham University.

Warren Langley

Warren has enjoyed a diverse career with roles including President of the Pacific Stock Exchange in San Francisco, Operations Research Director at United Airlines and Lieutenant-Colonel in the US Air Force. He holds degrees from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology. He lives in San Francisco.

Stephen Allott

Stephen is Executive Chairman of Trinamo, a management consultancy for technology companies. Prior to Trinamo, Stephen was President, CFO and a main board Director of Micromuse from 1995-2001. During this time it grew from £1m to £140m in turnover and from 50 to 800 people. Stephen has also held positions at McKinsey, Sun Microsystems and Xerox. He is a City Fellow of Hughes Hall, Cambridge University and is Non-Executive Chairman of COE Group plc and Executive Chairman of Inforsense Ltd. He is a graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge University.
